Goals &
Objectives:
I.Goal: the
terminal point of a race: an area to be reached safely: the
end toward which effort is directed
A.
MHSA's goal is to Glorify
Adonai in all we do by building up our families to become a
community that is resting completely on His foundation. YHVH has
clearly spoken promises that He will faithfully keep. They are
carefully recorded in the Scriptures of the Torah. YHVH taught that
His promises were conditional. He clearly stated that there were
expectations and standards that man needed to maintain in order to
receive those promised blessings. Moreover, YHVH desired for every
man to succeed in receiving those blessings. Throughout history He
sent leaders, prophets and teachers to help us learn His Ways.
However, the most significant Way in which YHVH demonstrated His
heart’s true desire was by sending his only Son – YESHUA - to
ensure our success. Therefore, our model is Yeshua –in both words
and deeds.
Deuteronomy 6:20-25 CJB
(20)
"Some day your child will ask you, 'What is the meaning of the
instructions, laws and rulings which Adonai our God has laid
down for you?' (21)
Then you will tell your child, 'We were slaves to Pharaoh in Egypt,
and Adonai brought us out of Egypt with a strong hand.
(22)
Adonai worked great and terrible signs and wonders against Egypt,
Pharaoh and all his household, before our very eyes.
(23)
He brought us out from there in order to bring us to the land he
had sworn to our ancestors that he would give us.
(24)
Adonai ordered us to observe all these laws, to fear Adonai our God,
always for our own good, so that he might keep us alive, as
we are today. (25)
It will be righteousness for us if we are careful to obey all
these mitzvot before Adonai our God, just as he ordered us to
do.'
B.
Faith
{or
TRUST} in YHVH and HIS Word
is essential for those seeking to dwell in HIS community. If we have
FAITH in His promise that HE will bring us to His good place
of dwelling then it makes sense that BY FAITH we will follow
YHVH’s instructions. The outward manifestations of this faith are
described in Scripture in great detail. However, they can be broken
into categories:
1.
Reverence/respect
2.
Obedience
3.
Knowledge
4.
Wisdom
C.
A community that is founded on and
directed by the Word of YHVH will display these characteristics.
That is because these are also the characteristics of HIS Kingdom.
YHVH’s Kingdom is
the end
toward which every effort is directed –
It is the GOAL
II.Objectives:
a strategic position
to be attained or a purpose to be achieved by a military
operation.
A.
The Scriptures teach us that HaSatan has launched a
great war against YHVH and His people. We must choose a side in this
war and then participate. Yeshua taught us that neutrality is not an
option. Whether we know this or whether we believe this or not, it
is reality.
B.
The strategic position that we have
been commanded to attain- is the Promised Land...the land flowing
with milk and honey –Zion - the New Jerusalem. By YHVH’s great
wisdom He has commanded us to take that ground – that
strategic position – for a great military advantage
against His enemy.
C.
The Followers of the Way have been given a manual by
which we operate in this war, so that we can be very effective each
time we engage the adversary. By FAITH we follow His commands with
an expectation of great victory.
Deuteronomy 6:1-9 CJB
"Now this is the mitzvah, the laws and rulings which Adonai
your God ordered me to teach you for you to obey in the land
you are crossing over to possess,
(2)
so that you will fear Adonai your God and observe all his
regulations and mitzvot that I am giving you - you, your child and
your grandchild - as long as you live, and so that you
will have long life.
(3) Therefore listen, Isra'el, and
take care to obey, so that things will go well with you, and
so that you will increase greatly, as Adonai, the God of
your ancestors, promised you by giving you a land flowing with milk
and honey. (4)
"Sh'ma, Yisra'el! Adonai Eloheinu, Adonai echad
[Hear, Isra'el! Adonai our God, Adonai
is one];
(5) and
you are to love Adonai your God with all your heart, all your being
and all your resources. 6
These words, which I am ordering you today, are to be on your
heart; (7)
and you are to teach them carefully to your children.
You are to talk about them when you sit at home, when you are
traveling on the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
(8)
Tie them on your hand as a sign, put them at the front of a headband
around your forehead, (9)
and write them on the door-frames of your house and on your gates.
D.
As members of this emerging army of Yah, the MHSA
members and families have been skillfully gifted and supplied by our
Mighty Commander and King.
1.
We seek to prepare our children and our families
to use every talent and every resource in this battle
against our enemy. We seek to bless and honor our King YHVH in the
mighty Name of Yeshua.
2.
On this adventurous journey we take the
Scriptures literally, and we employ all the wisdom and
knowledge that is afforded us through those precious words. MHSA
member families bring the Word to practical application in all
instruction, counsel, and activities.
a.
Bring families to the understanding of His call on us
to teach our children. We support one another in following the
command to teach our children
1)
Deuteronomy 6:6These
words, which I am ordering you today, are to be on your heart;
The parents and the children have a personal
responsibility to read and practice the Word. The greatest teacher
that a child can have is the parent who obeys the Word every day in
front of the child’s eyes.
2)
Deuteronomy 6:2
so that you will have long life
Obedience to the Commandments leads
to clear and well-defined results both immediately
while on earth and later in Heaven for eternity. This
is a very serious responsibility handed to every parent. It is not
taken in a casual manner.
3)
Proverbs 22:6
Train a child in the way he [should] go; and, even when old, he
will not swerve from it.
The very best parenting manual every
written is the Bible. Tried and true instructions are accompanied by
real life examples of great victories and successes - as well as
epic failures. YHVH has recorded it all for us to survey - through
time and space - the steadfastness of His TRUTH.
b.
To directly and personally raise our children, and
base all of their teaching, instruction and discipline based on
Torah/Scripture.
1)
Deuteronomy 6:1 "Now
this is the mitzvah, the laws and rulings which
Adonai your God ordered me to teach
you for you to OBEY
The directive is simple and clear.
The blessings, the protection and the PROMISES of YHVH begin
with obedience to HIS WORD. Every parent bears the
responsibility to teach his own children the Word so that they will
have the correct information needed in order to fulfill the role for
which YHVH has created them. The first requirement of this role is
obedience.
2)
2
Timothy 3:14-17
But you, continue in what you have learned and have
become convinced of, recalling the people from whom you learned it;
(15)
and recalling too how from childhood you have known the Holy
Scriptures, which can give you the wisdom that
leads to deliverance through trusting in Yeshua the Messiah.
(16)
All Scripture is God-breathed and is valuable for teaching
the truth, convicting of sin, correcting faults and training in
right living; (17)
thus
anyone who belongs to God may be fully equipped for every good work.
Over the generations mankind has been
blessed with great knowledge and discovered many great facts about
our world. At the same time, there have been numerous errors and
contradictions mixed with deliberate falsehoods. This misinformation
has been printed and taught. The Scriptures are the only foundation
of truth and true knowledge. There is no error in
them. The Word is the guide to prevent wasted time and wasted energy
on these mistakes. Any child trained within a biblical context will
be well prepared to learn, work and excel in any profession or in
any type of employment as a strong, productive member of any
society.
3)
As unique individuals, each child is also part of a
family which demonstrates characteristics and strengths for which
YHVH has designed them.
Ø
For this reason there are numerous “Homeschooling
Styles”.
*unschooling
*classical
*eclectic
*textbook
Ø
None of these styles is right or wrong- in and
of themselves. Whichever style of teaching is most effective
for the family –it is the “right one” for them. The most
important thing to remember is that the parent is the best
and the ONLY one capable of determining which style will be
appropriate for their own child –because YHVH designed the
match between the parent and the child. HE knew the child BEFORE the
womb.
E.
Members of YHVH’s community bear HIS
Name, His image, His character. This is the ultimate result of the
loving relationship between Adonai and HIS people…YHVH + HIS
people…We love Him…He loves us…in this love we are united.
1.
MHSA member families understand the
importance of raising children in the fear of YHVH. These children
are the building stones of a great community. They are the future
leaders and laborers in Yah’s work and His coming victorious
Kingdom
Deuteronomy 4:5-8
Look,
I have taught you
laws and rulings, just as Adonai my God ordered
me, so that you can behave accordingly in the land
where you are going in order to take possession of it.
(6)
Therefore, observe them; and follow them; for then all peoples
will see you as having wisdom and understanding. When they hear of
all these laws, they will say, 'This great nation is surely a wise
and understanding people.'
(7) For
what great nation is there that has God as close to them
as Adonai our God is, whenever we call on him?
(8) What
great nation is there that has laws and rulings as just as
this entire Torah which I am setting before you today?
a.
In this community, the fathers are all
warriors who stand against the adversary. The men who fear YHVH are
blessed with weapons of war for which the enemy has no defense or
attack that will work.
Psalms 127:3-5
Children too are a gift from Adonai; the fruit of the womb is a
reward. (4)
The children born when one is young. are like arrows in the hand of
a warrior. (5)
How blessed is the man who has filled his quiver with them;
he will not have to be embarrassed when contending with foes
at the city gate.
Psalms 112:1-2 Praise the LORD! How
blessed is the man who fears the LORD, Who greatly
delights in His commandments. (2) His descendants will be
mighty on earth; The generation of the upright will be blessed.
b.
In this community, the mothers are
essential co-laborers and skilled members of the troop. It is
required that they know the Word intimately so that they can
skillfully prepare their children to become productive members.
These young people will be prepared when they face their own battles
in the future. They will continue the battle against the adversary -
never losing sight of the goal.
Proverbs 31:25-28
ע
Clothed with
strength and dignity,
she can laugh at the days to come.
(26)
פ
When she opens her mouth, she speaks wisely; on her tongue is
loving instruction.
(27)
צ
She watches how things go in her house, not eating the bread of
idleness. (28)
ק
Her children arise;
they make her happy; her husband too, as he praises her:

The MHSA provides a network of people
and a variety of supports for all families seeking to thrive in a
dreary and dry world. The members share the work, bear the burdens
of others, and encourage the weak or the wounded. In this Way, YHVH
can reveal Himself among His people. In this Way Yeshua will draw
others to Himself. In this Way we will live according to His Way
–His Word.
a.
In the MHSA - YHVH has created a group that offers
educational and learning opportunities based on Scripture, and
incorporates Torah in ALL things we do.
Deuteronomy 6:7-9
and you are to
teach them carefully to your children. You are to talk about them
when you sit at home, when you are traveling on the road, when you
lie down and when you get up.
(8)
Tie them on your hand as a sign, put them at the front of a headband
around your forehead, (9)
and write them on the door-frames
of your house and on your gates.
1)
All activities and events begin with reverence and
recognition of YHVH, a review of appropriate commandments from the
Scriptures, and prayer.
2)
All activities are planned and scheduled around a
Biblical calendar.
a.
All Biblically prescribed Holy Days are respected
within the MHSA school calendar
b.
NO events, classes or activities are scheduled after
12 noon on the 6th day {Friday}-
Preparation Day - and sundown on the 7th
Day – Shabbat
b.
In the MHSA- YHVH has created an environment of
"Echad"{unity}
among the families. This unity comes from
affiliating with HIM – not with each other. This is because the
flesh is weak and contaminated, but HIS Word is pure and powerful.
1)
Deuteronomy6:3 so
that things will go well with you
MHSA members and families support and
encourage parents as they strive to raise their families up in His
ways and His family model.
2)
Deuteronomy 6:3so
that you will increase greatly
MHSA members and families Use the
website as an informational 'hub' for parents, for support,
encouragement, resources, and ideas.
3)
Deuteronomy 6:5
and you are to love Adonai your God with all
your heart, all your being and all your resources.
MHSA uses the internet to its fullest
capacity. The use of this tool eliminates the stress of traveling
expenses, time away from the home, and the delays and interruptions
that interfere with excellence in the home school.
a)
Skype provides access to children who live in a home
that has only one car or for families who live great distances
apart.
b)
The internet provides rapid access to
teaching/learning materials that would otherwise need to be shipped
(wasting time and money}
